![]() As was said above, I don’t care about what people think about the way my bike looks. ![]() That’s not to say I won’t end up purchasing a 3 piece Mustang in the future being the slave to fashion I am. Other than it sitting so high on the bike I like it. I’m pretty sure they are offered with studs as well at an additional cost. The backrest I ordered came with a pocket in the back…you know…to haul my meth and heroin because I’m a biker now. Cost for the unit was $79.95 derived to the great state of Texas and I used PayPal. Overall I’m pretty happy with my purchase. Likely because this model is designed to fit with an existing Mustang my experience is substantially different than what I had on the HD. If you like the laid back style typical of cruiser riding then this might not be for you. I don’t find that I’m hanging my feet off the back of the boards anymore and the overall comfort level of the bike is much improved for ME. It really forces me to keep a good upright posture when riding. Once I got accustomed to it, it was actually pretty nice. I absolutely hated it when I took off this morning to pick up my plates for the bike.Ībsolutely hated it for the first 10 or so miles. I felt like it was too high and when I sat on it it felt like it really pushed me forward. With that being said, I already had a Mustang seat on the bike when I purchased it so I ordered the Grasshopper which was designed to fit with the Mustang, and it does very nicely. My preferred bikes have been Gold Wings and Adventure bikes like the GS, the 2 GSA’s and my Super Tenere I’ve owned. My seat in my Jeep is likely 80 degrees uupright. I felt like it was too far behind the seat or at least further than I prefer to sit. I had one on my ’19 Heritage Softail and while it was better than nothing…it wasn’t much better. I ordered the Grasshopper and shipping happened pretty quick. Now if this fog will lift I can continue with the testing. Thanks to Keith for sending me some pics of the lowers placement on his bikes. Wompus rack due in today, Viking trunk due in Monday and then I think I'm finished.for now. Seat of the pants dyno on my drive way seems nice but I'm unsure of the looks. The Grasshopper back rest was waiting on my porch when I got home from testing so the jury is still out on it. This was good money spent and I love the way it looks. Around 60 (where I spend most of my time) I can ride all day with the shield up on my helmet. At 80 on the freeway with my full face shield up I get some buffeting, but nothing like I got with the fly screen that came with the bike. In the interim, the first phase of add ons is completed with the addition of my Memphis Fats 15" shield and large lowers. Am I looking headed in the right direction? Any guidance is appreciated. The four-valve engine has basically been overhauled from the existing unit found in the Roadliner XV1900A, which includes adding an overdrive sixth gear and now using twin counterbalancers as well as rubber mounts to keep the vibes under control.I'd like to bring the toe shifter up was I can't get my boot under it? It appears that there is a threaded rod that connects the shifter to the tranny. The Star Venture is powered by a ride-by-wire 1854cc air-cooled V-twin engine with cruise and traction control, and other features includes a seven-inch touch-screen infotainment system, lockable saddlebags, storage galore, an electronically adjustable windscreen, heated grips and seats, an adjustable backrest, and a system dubbed 'Sure Park' which is an electric motor that helps riders to manoeuvre the bike – forward and reverse – in tight situations. While the company has sportstourers and cruisers in its line-up, the Star Venture plugs a hole – and the specs suggest that it's taking the plunge all guns blazing. Here's the Yamaha Star Venture full-dress luxury tourer, the company's answer to the likes of the Honda Gold Wing, Indian Roadmaster range, Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited and BMW Motorrad K 1600 GTL.
